The Selekta interview with Bryan Zents He really needs no introduction... Zents (aka Barada) has been producing hits for the last 12 years. Both his production and mixing skills have made many a body move, and that's why we are blessed to have been able to spend some time with him. Bogdan Raczynski: The Selekta Interview From Abdullah K to Bogdan Raczynski, He's got a deep mind and even deeper music. Asha checks in to talk about music and the expertise behind rollin' the dice. Dieselboy: The Selekta Interview ".... I am running through the train station looking for Dieselboy (aka Damian Higgins, 29) and I'm so late for the interview that I should be wrapping up now and driving him to his gig in Sterling, Virginia. Instead, I can't find the right restaurant, and have just realized that the batteries in my tape recorder are dead. The newest named resident DJ of DC's prestigious weekly club event, "Buzz," is waiting for me, and I am quickly becoming unglued. Mark Reeder: The Man Behind The Curtain MFS. Masterminded For Success. The pioneering Berlin based label that sets the standard that all underground labels are judged by is now entering its 10th year of existence without selling out to 'the man', a milestone that (unfortuantely) few labels have managed to reach. The address has changed a few times over the years, but the label's dedication to the future of underground dance music has not.
The Wicked Vibes of San Francisco's Dj Jeno On the West Coast there are some Djs that have left their mark in lots of dancer's minds. One Dj that has made thousands of people over the years dance from their heart is the one and only Jeno. He has been all over the United States to share his music with those who believe in what House Music can really do for your soul, and Selekta's Dawn Lowrey had the wonderful experience of finding out some of Jeno's real feelings. DJ EASE of Nightmares on Wax and His Deeper Understanding of Life... Delving right into my conversation with George Evelyn, a.k.a. EASE of Nightmares on Wax, I immediately wanted to know what the particular inspirations for his most recent album were, and if current events had anything to do with it. His responses went deeper than most interviews I've had the pleasure of conducting... Aruba - (Elevation Recordings - Aruba Productions) Darran Nugent aka Aruba is a fresh face in the international house scene, having only released his first EP in 2001. Aruba represents house music that is deep but funky in equal measures. Darran also runs a new label called Elevation Recordings based in his home town of Galway with artists on its roster that include David Duriez (20 20 Vision), Yann Fontaine (Low Pressings), Richard Gow aka The Rhythm Slaves (Peng/Hypnotic) and Fish Go Deep (Chez, Gourmet).
